2020 Requests for Application for North Central IPM Center grant programs available

East Lansing, Michigan — The North Central IPM Center is preparing to announce the availability of funds for proposals for its Working Group and Critical Issues programs, for the cycle of 2020.

The North Central IPM Center is tasked with improving health, environmental and economic conditions in the north central region through leadership and cooperation with diverse stakeholders, to facilitate the development and adoption of integrated pest management solutions. This mission directly accomplishes the goals of the National IPM Roadmap. One method through which the Center achieves these goals is through annual competitive grant programs that address pest management needs outlined in the Center’s priorities, which can be found here. These priorities are based upon the Center’s Signature programs, and evaluated annually by regional stakeholders.

While the contents of the RFA will be similar to previous years, the 2020 submission process will be through a new proposal/project management system (PPMS). It is recommended that applicants allow ample time to enter the information into the system after one has completed the instructions that will be outlined in the soon-to-be-released RFA. The North Central IPM Center will conduct a webinar about the technicalities of submitting a proposal through the new PPMS system at a later time.

A special and immediate release of the RFA, and the scheduled webinar, will be sent through the North Central IPM Center’s information network, including: The Central Issue (The Center’s newsletter), the Connections Blog (a blog for official announcements from the EPA and USDA, as well as for job opportunities) and Twitter (@ncipmc). The North Central IPM Center’s website will also be updated to advertise the RFA on the front page.
